Creating community connections for TalkTalk through PR & social media
TalkTalk is installing a city wide full fibre internet connection in York to create its first Ultra Fibre Optic city. Once completed, 55,000 homes and businesses across the city will be able to benefit from gigabit internet speeds. During the rollout, TalkTalk wanted to give something back to the communities it was working in and to raise awareness of the benefits of full fibre internet with local residents.
Our solution? A joined-up PR & Social Media Programme!
Working closely with the TalkTalk team in York and London, and key stakeholders and communities in York, we have developed a PR programme, incorporating stories about the overall project and the benefits it brings to York; a community programme supporting a range of projects in communities, schools and local organisations; and sponsorship of city wide projects and events, such as York Balloon Fiesta and York Press Business Awards.
This has generated a steady drumbeat of monthly on and offline coverage in national, regional and local media including TV and radio.
Our work has included a regular stream of social media post development to build engagement and following, helping to develop relationships and awareness of the TalkTalk fibre optic company across the city and within the communities, they are working.
“Thank you for the brilliant results you’ve helped us to achieve in York, your expertise has been invaluable, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with you and the team.”
