Our top tips for managing stress in the workplace

To celebrate April being Stress Awareness Month, we’ve been reflecting on how we manage stress in the workplace by each sharing our own tips. We find these help us to look after our mental health and maintain a work-life balance. We hope they help you too!

Georgie- Take the time to have a break from your screen. This could just be stepping away and taking the time to make a healthy, balanced lunch, or going outside and listening to a podcast during your break. It helps to clear my head and refocus for the rest of the day!

Rachel- Turn up the music loud, dance around your kitchen and hug your partner, your child, your dog or a friend. Do something that makes you laugh out loud and shifts your energy!

Lauren- Plan something to do after work so you get outside and switch your mind off. My personal go-to is heading to the gym for a work-out, it gives you endorphins too!

Susan - Get outside, rain or shine, breath some fresh air and have a purposeful walk, preferably in a green space if you are lucky enough to be able to access some locally. Really look at nature, notice the seasons, the colours, the changing weather, the sunshine (hopefully).  I like to have something to look forward to when I get back home ideally some delicious food, a good book, or a funny box set.

Alicia- I love trying new creative activities outside of work that keep you away from a screen and allow you to get to know new people. Dance classes or drawing classes are also a great way to develop a new skill and use your brain in a different way than usual!

Lottie- Sitting in the garden (if it’s nice weather) and writing a personal to do list is always helpful and writing one for work the next day. It’s such a great feeling when you tick off all the tasks on your to-do list!

We would love for you to share your stress management tips too!
