Rachel founded Intandem Communications in 2002 and is very much the driving force behind the business. With a science background and wide ranging career including exporting British grain, and promoting a £500 million construction company, she has helped numerous large and small businesses across Yorkshire and the UK to grow and expand. With a deep understanding of the PR and marketing world, she uses her profound knowledge, extensive list of contacts and experience to provide an effective and unique approach, helping clients transform an idea into reality.

A well-respected figure in York, Rachel was awarded York Press Business Personality of the Year 2015. She is vice-Chair of York Against Cancer and a former chair of York Professionals. Rachel loves walking and cycling in the Yorkshire Wolds and is always up for any crazy outdoor challenges!

Alex has been part of the team since 2015 and now uses her expertise to support the team with the strategic planning of a client’s marketing and PR needs, helping to create a plan that will make their vision a reality.

Alex is also a key part of The Yorkshire Mark team, developing and delivering its strategy to champion Yorkshire Food and Drink across the region.

With a young daughter, horses and a (very small) flock of sheep, life outside of work is very busy and she is often found in the countryside covered in mud!

Helen partners with the Intandem team as an experienced and creative copywriter and marketer with a flair for storytelling and strategic thinking.

She brings two decades of in-house experience at corporates and start-ups, and four years freelancing for small businesses and design agencies. She uses her love for language and uncovering insights to bring brands to life.

Known for her collaborative approach and boundless creativity, Helen is especially skilled at aligning marketing campaigns with a brand’s voice and vision, ensuring every message is clear.

Helen has connected the dots across brand strategy and marketing execution for clients in telecoms, rail freight, education, local government, and professional services, delivering work that not only looks and sounds great but also drives real impact. Helen brings passion, purpose, and precision to every project.

Jo brings over 30 years’ experience in public relations across Yorkshire’s agency and government sectors. With expertise spanning business, hospitality, food, travel, health, leisure, interiors and lifestyle, she has delivered high-profile campaigns for brands including Nestlé, La Redoute, the WI, Silver Cross, York Fashion Week, Jorvik Viking Centre and Homes England.

Known for combining strategic insight with creative flair, Jo helps brands tell compelling stories and build lasting visibility. She loves working with small and medium-sized businesses and has recently led campaigns for boutique aparthotels, luxury holiday lets and premium restaurants and bars across Yorkshire. Her strong network of regional and national journalists has secured widespread media coverage and lasting results for her clients.

Her six-year stint as a media volunteer for Marie Curie saw Jo’s work celebrated in the charity’s People Awards 2018 in the ‘Leading in our Field’ category. Jo is currently a trustee for Hull Women’s Aid.

Michelle’s experience in marketing, business development, business and event management, keeps the Intandem wheels turning.

Supporting our clients and team she helps to deliver social media and marketing content and leads Yorkshire Mark brand supporting members and helping to food and drink producers, restaurants and ambassadors to showcase their Yorkshire provenance.

In her spare time Michelle is an actor. Having performed in a number of theatre productions, her ability to respond quickly and adapt in the moment are very much an asset!
